The Open Forum on Agricultural Biotechnology in Africa (OFAB) Rwanda Chapter is glad to announce the call for participation in the First Edition of OFAB Media Awards 2022.

For the first time in Rwanda, OFAB Media Awards (OMA) 2022 mission is to recognize and promote Rwandan-based journalists who are creating and reporting on the use, benefits, and other constructive information on agriculture biotechnology.

Annually, the OMAs will recognize the critical roles played by the media in promoting constructive dialogue on modern biotechnology through responsible, professional, ethical, and effective reporting.

I. Eligibility

• Rwandan journalists who have been reporting on agricultural biotechnology and other important stories in the area of science, technology, and innovation
   
• The entry period is for one year: from 31st August 2021 to 31st August 2022
• Categories for the award will be:

1. Print and Online (Newspapers, Magazine and Online, etc.)
2. Radio
3. Television

II. How to apply?

• Contestant journalists are encouraged to submit their entries by sharing:
  a. Links to published articles. The URL should be from a media house and not a personal blog; or
  b. YouTube and SoundCloud links to TV and Radio stories respectively; and,
  c. Links to 3 of their best self-appraised articles or stories
• The entries (active links) should be submitted HERE before the deadline.
•   If an entry is not accessible online, scanned articles should be submitted to the OFAB Rwanda secretariat at [email protected]
• English transcripts (in pdf format) of stories covered in Kinyarwanda can also be submitted to the same email.
