The International Bamboo and Rattan Organization (INBAR) is looking for intern to assist in the on-line e-learning project preparation, implementation, reporting and evaluation, and support preparations for the Second Global Bamboo and Rattan Congress (BARC 2022). The intern will be based in Beijing, China for Six months duration, with opportunity of continued internship work according to performance and task requirements.

The INBAR E-Learning Programme was initiated in 2020 under the global COVID -19 pandemic situation, in order to facilitate capacity building and knowledge sharing for global bamboo and rattan stakeholders, to explore and make effective use of the enormous potentials of bamboo and rattan.  The programme aims to help providing innovative, nature-based solutions for a world with more and more uncertainties in human living environment, economy and society. The e-learning programme comprises of a series of webinars and online training modules on different thematic areas of bamboo and rattan.

I. Responsibilities

  • Assist in webinar/training project preparation: close coordination with Webinar / training project Panelists / Speakers for finalizing agenda, topic, soliciting webinar / training materials, and support in preparation of presentation and other webinar / training materials.
  • Assist in the preparation and production of communication materials and training manuals and other documents for webinars and training projects.
  • Provide support in translation and editing of webinar / training project related documents from Chinese to English and vice versa (if needed).
  • Assist in familiarizing and combating technical issues of panelists and attendees. Particularly organize pre-test for familiarizing panelist / speakers on the selected webinar platform (Microsoft Teams, Zoom, etc.).
  • Assist in preparation / updating of necessary templates: registration, feedback forms, etc.
  • Act as a Rapporteur of the Webinars and online/offline training activities, capture main knowledge and information, concepts and common recognitions and consents during discussions (Q &A), and summarize on key messages.
  • Provide support in profiling of INBAR E-learning Programme: develop, maintain and update the e-learning database of panelist and attendees, keep filing of presentations / course materials, capture and analyze statistics of attendees, provide supporting data for monitoring and evaluate the impacts of the webinars/training events.
  • Devise mechanism to maintain a network of INBAR training alumni with regular exchanges of information through online platforms.
  • Assist in fulfilling post-webinar / training programme tasks: editing of recorded session for posting in YouTube and Social media channels, processing payment and certificates, etc.
  • Any other tasks reasonably requested by the supervisor.

II. Requirements

  • Graduate or undergraduate student, preferably in international trade, economy, finance, development, cooperation, environment governance, forestry & agriculture, rural development fields;

  • Proficient in computer and following software: Microsoft office, adobe Photoshop / illustrator, video editing software, social medias, etc.
  • Highly responsible, devoted, perseverant, hard working and able to work under pressure. Able to dedicate / work at least 2 full days per week.
